Description:

The HistoryMakers database contains oral histories of Black Americans who have achieved some measure of renown in their professions. The database was searched for memories about public libraries. Those stories are included in this dataset. Also included are metadata about the sex, age, date of birth, and profession of the story teller, and the location and date of the setting of the stories. Some trends are graphed.
